About Our TechSTAR Program

Our tailored 4-year Apprenticeship program will see you work alongside our talented team of qualified Service Mechanics, gaining valuable experience in the workshop and out in the field whilst attending TAFE to complete your Cert III in Agricultural Mechanical Technology.
At Emmetts, we are passionate about supporting our Apprentice’s every step of the way and that’s why we have a dedicated Technical Training & Apprenticeship team providing you with ongoing advice, support and John Deere bespoke training sessions.
A Toolbox valued at $5,000 including Ag specific tools
Above Award Wage Rates + Available overtime
Increased Tool Allowances for the duration of your Apprenticeship
All Travel, Accommodation & Meals Paid during TAFE Blocks

A positive person, with a willingness to learn, a true passion for Agriculture and the drive to become a qualified Diesel Mechanic.

What should I include in my application?

A cover letter:
Tell us why you want to join the program
Tell us why you would you would make a good Diesel Mechanic
Tell us about any previous experience you might have – this could be personal or work based
Which Branch would you like to join?
TIP:  Let us know if you are open to multiple branches – this could increase your chances of selection.
Your Resume
Provide a timeline of your work experience and education history to date
Include your key achievements – both personal and professional are relevant
Tell us about any Volunteering and/or Sporting Teams your associated with

What happens next?

Our application process officially commences every year in July with the aim to successfully onboard our new group of TechSTAR apprentices the following January. Whilst this can feel like a long process, we do this deliberately, not only capture all those who wish to apply after completing exams but to allow us to select the best possible candidates for our Program.
