Looking for a reliable all-around tractor to support a variety of applications? The 6M offers a portfolio of 13 models across 5 frame sizes (2400mm to 2900mm) to optimise your operation. Whether you need a nimble tractor for loader work or a row crop tractor with dual tyres, the 6M is up to any task. The broad offering of optional transmissions, hydraulics, rear axles, and tyres allows the operator to customise their tractor to meet the unique challenges of any operation.
The 6M Tractor was designed to ensure maximum maneuverability and visibility, no matter the job. The sloped hood design on the 2400mm wheelbase cab models delivers superior visibility to the front loader or front-mounted attachments. Operators can easily see the front mounted loader attachments (buckets, pallet forks, bale spears, etc.) to ensure proper alignment for attaching and detaching.
When you work in small spaces, a short wheelbase is critical in providing the tight turning radius needed to maneuver. The 6M features a 17.8-cm (7-in.) shorter wheelbase (240 cm [94.5 in.]) on three tractors ranging from 95 to 125 engine horsepower. Take advantage of a 4.3-m (14-ft) turning radius, perfect for cleaning out barns, working livestock, baling hay, roadside mowing applications, and more.
Note: These features do not apply to the Open Operator Station (OOS) models.
The engine is an integrated part of the full-frame concept. The engine is connected to the frame using vibration-absorbing isolators. Further vibration reduction is achieved by utilising a heavy-duty torsional damper in the cardan shaft, coupling the flywheel to the clutch housing. This technique provides the following benefits:
Durability and performance
The engine is integrated within the full frame and features the following:
Injectors deliver the same fuel pressure level to cylinders from the high-pressure common rail (HPCR):
Performance-matched fuel consumption delivers reduced fuel costs per hour.
Benefits
All 6M Series Tractor engines have a fast-response turbocharger, which is perfectly matched to the respective engine settings.
The 4-cylinder engines, which have a high exhaust gas velocity in their shorter exhaust manifold system, achieve the best performance with a single-channel turbocharger.
The 6-cylinder engines have divided exhaust manifolds with a dual-channel turbocharger.
This careful matching benefits the operator with environmentally friendly, yet economic performance.
When comparing tractor performance information, it is important to understand the engine standards and measurements used by manufacturers when collecting the data.
ECE R120 refers to engine flywheel horsepower. The ECE R24 measurement is lower because the power required to operate the cooling fan is included.
Meeting emission regulations with high-quality performance requires an efficient cooling system. This has been achieved with the PowerTech™ E engine, where excellent heat dissipation promotes an optimized and complete combustion:
Efficient cooling by design
The air-to-air charge air cooler (CAC), transmission, and hydraulic cooler (TOC) are located in front of the main radiator (RAD). The fuel cooler (FC) is located in front of the air conditioning and combination hydraulic cooler/radiator.
In this stacked cooling package, the optional air conditioning (AC) is the first full-size cooler. The fuel cooler and the front power take-off (PTO) cooler are always in front, if the 6M is ordered with F-PTO.
Excellent reliability and serviceability are achieved by the automotive-type closed cooling system.
The system is maintenance free and maintains the correct coolant level for optimum cooling efficiency.
The coolant is circulated by the engine coolant pump, a mechanically driven impeller pump.
The integral full-flow oil cooler is a highly efficient plate-type heat exchanger. The cooler is integrated into the coolant cavity of the engine block, providing a significant advantage:
The vertically mounted full-flow oil filter is fitted with large pipes to reduce flow restrictions for increased reliability and engine lubrication.
The filter is mounted vertically for no-mess replacement.
The optimisation of the viscous fan design regarding fan diameter, number of blades, and collar design lead to a significant reduction of parasitic losses.
The temperature of the air passing through the radiator regulates the variable viscous fan drive speed between:
Operating with light to medium engine loads (at rated engine speed) in cool ambient temperatures, the viscous fan drive speed is approximately 1200 rpm to 1600 rpm.
Even under heavy field conditions at low ambient temperatures, the slower running speeds of the viscous fan drive saves up to 3 kW (4 hp). The collar fan is precisely guided in a ring-shaped shroud. Thus, the airflow is directed, turbulence-free, through the radiator system, resulting in a higher flow rate and a simultaneous 10 percent reduction of the horsepower required for the fan drive. Hence, the total efficiency increase achieved by the collar fan/shroud system adds up to 20 percent compared to a conventional fan.
As a higher airflow rate is required by the engine, the PowerCore G2 air filter helps ensuring a clean performance-orientated combustion.
PowerCore G2 air filter discharging systems provide:

Customers rely on the 6M tractor for many different applications such as loader work, transport, baling, mowing, roadside mowing, snow removal, sugarcane harvest, etc. This requires an extensive transmission portfolio to support the unique requirements of the various applications. The 6M allows the customer to select the controls and speeds to best fit their applications. Operators will have the ability to select transmission solutions offering:
PowrQuad PLUS transmissions feature a partial PowerShift technology. An operator selects a desired range using the single gearshift on the right hand console and the gears using the push buttons on the same handle. The PowrQuad PLUS has a declutch function to shift ranges without using the foot clutch pedal. By pressing the declutch button on the transmission shifting lever, it is possible to change the ranges up or down. For specialty uses like vegetable, orchard, peanuts, and other operations that need extremely slow speeds, creeper speeds are available with the PowrQuad PLUS transmission.
The AutoQuad PLUS transmission features all the benefits of a PowrQuad PLUS, with the ability to automatically shift four power shift gears depending on engine rotations per minute (rpm) and load. This allows the customer to select the desired range and allow the tractor to determine the optimal gear within that range. For specialty uses like vegetable, orchard, and other operations that need extremely slow speeds, creeper speeds are available with the AutoQuad PLUS transmission. Depending on the configuration, AutoQuad PLUS transmissions equipped with creeper gears have a minimum ground speed of 0.27 km/h (0.17 mph) and a top speed of 50 km/h (31 mph).
The CommandQuad PLUS maintains the impressive reliability of an AutoQuad transmission while enhancing operator convenience and productivity through increased automatic shifting capabilities. This transmission utilises push button control of ranges with a single lever and two operating modes – AUTO mode and manual mode:
Operators looking for a more comfortable, fuel efficient, and proven transmission can upgrade to an Infinitely Variable Transmission (AutoPowr™/IVT) system for any 6M tractor (not available for Tier 2 tractors). The IVT system utilises a combination of mechanical and hydrostatic power, providing stepless and continuous power across an infinitely variable range of speeds. The set speed wheel is quick and easy to adjust with the operator’s thumb to establish the maximum commanded forward or reverse speed in each speed band.
